Homemade Garlic Paste
A simple and versatile kitchen staple – quick to prepare and perfect for adding flavor to pasta, soups, sauces, pan-fried dishes and many other meals.
Ingredients
100 g peeled garlic
½ tsp salt
Olive oil (or another vegetable oil)
Preparation
1. Prepare the garlic
Place 100 g of peeled garlic in a tall blending container and add ½ tsp salt.
2. Blend
Add a little olive oil or another vegetable oil and blend the garlic with a hand blender until it forms a smooth paste. If needed, gradually add a little more oil until you reach the desired consistency.
3. Transfer to a container
Transfer the finished garlic paste to a clean, sealable container and smooth the surface.
4. Cover with oil
Cover the garlic paste completely with oil. After each use, make sure the paste is covered again with a continuous layer of oil.
Storage & Tip
Store the finished garlic paste in a clean, sealed container in the refrigerator and use it promptly. After each use, make sure the surface is completely covered with oil again.
If you want to prepare larger quantities or store the paste for longer, you can freeze it in individual portions. This way, you can simply take out the amount you need for cooking.
The paste is perfect as a quick seasoning base for pasta, soups, sauces, pan-fried dishes and many other recipes. This saves you from having to peel and chop fresh garlic every time.
