Smirko – Das Rote-Bete-Zombie-Ei für Halloween

Smirko – The Beetroot Zombie Egg

Smirko is created from a boiled egg that gets its typical reddish skin color from beetroot. With a slice of cucumber and a little food coloring, a small Halloween figure is created step by step.

Steps at a Glance

Peel a boiled egg

Rub the egg with a slice of beetroot

Let the egg rest for about 20 minutes so the color can set and won’t smudge later

Cut cucumber to use as hair and place it on top

Design the face using food coloring

Finish decorating Smirko

The Result

With just a few ingredients, Smirko is created – a small beetroot zombie egg for Halloween. More Halloween projects will follow step by step.

My Tip

If the color is not vibrant enough for you yet, rub the egg with the beetroot again every few minutes during the resting period. This makes the reddish tint more intense and even.
